Psychotherapy
I provide clients with psychotherapy sessions tailored to their needs and presenting concerns. I am trained in several modalities of therapy, such that I can offer clients various approaches until we find one that works best for you.
While my decade of clinical experience has afforded me opportunities to work with individuals and families with different types of stressors, my areas of expertise are Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, women’s mental health, life transitions, trauma, and mood disorders in general.
Have you or a loved one struggled for a long time with the same symptoms, but haven’t been able to get a clear diagnosis of what’s going on? If so, psychological testing and assessment might be for you.
I offer comprehensive psychological testing for children and adults. I have conducted several kinds of assessment, including but not limited to: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Mood Disorders, and psychoeducational testing.
Psychological Testing
About Me
I am a bilingual Spanish speaking licensed psychologist who has trained and worked at Ivy league medical schools around the Northeast. I specialize in women’s mental health, peri and postnatal mood and anxiety disorders, and psychological testing for children and adolescents.
Perinatal and Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Women’s Mental Health
I completed my fellowship at Brown University’s Alpert Medical School, where I worked with women struggling to make the transition to parenthood due to depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, Bipolar disorder, and other serious mental illness such as schizophrenia spectrum disorders. As part of my residency I completed a placement at Harvard Medical School working with individuals with serious mental illness, making me especially qualified to recognize warning signs and vulnerabilities in women. I also bring a unique understanding and knowledge of medication in pregnancy and postpartum, which I gained from working closely with GPs and psychiatrists while in training.
Prior to my fellowship, my work largely centered around working with women across the lifespan and understanding how physiological changes impact mood and well-being. An important focus of my clinical work has also been understanding the ways that the intersectionality of our identities (acculturation status, gender identity, biological sex, race, ethnicity, language) impact mental health and well-being.
Psychological Testing
As part of my residency at Boston University’s Boston Medical Center, I worked in Child Psychiatry with individuals from ages five and up to provide diagnostic clarity about their symptoms and recommendations for school and home. Assessment has always been a part of my work as a psychologist, such that I have also worked evaluating adults and children across the lifespan to determine diagnostic clarity.
